Kazakhstanis splurge over 10 billion tenge on VIP license plates in 2023In 2023, Kazakhstanis spent over 10 billion tenge on nearly 30,000 vanity license plates for their cars, as reported by the Government for Citizens State Corporation. This is a significant increase from the 7 billion tenge spent in 2022.The sale of these vanity license plates, introduced in Kazakhstan in 2014, contributes to the country's budget. Notably, the fastest-selling numbers in 2023 included  010, 020, 030, 040, 050, 060, 070, 077, 080, 090, 707 priced at 57 MCI each (210,444 tenge). The most exclusive VIP numbers like 001, 002, 003, 004, 005, 006, 007, 008, 009, 777,  cost car owners 285 MCI each (1,052,220 tenge).In 2023, specialized service centers across the country registered over 3.2 million vehicles and issued 1.1 million driver’s licenses, according to the state corporation.
