KAZAKHSTAN-ITALY-COLLABORATION

Kazakhstan and Italy to boost cooperation, deepen strategic partnershipPresident Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan and Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni of Italy discussed enhancing cooperation in various fields during their meeting in Rome, according to the Kazakh leader's press service."During the meeting, the emphasis was on strengthening cooperation in trade, economics, investments, energy, transportation, logistics, agriculture, culture, humanitarian efforts, education, green energy, and the advancement of air traffic between the capitals of both states,” the press release said following the meeting."We are proud to be Italy's main partner in Central Asia. Our economic cooperation is growing dynamically holding vast potential for further expansion,” the President of Kazakhstan stated during the meeting, as quoted by the press service.President Tokayev commended Italy as a major investor in Kazakhstan, with a trade turnover of about $15 billion and direct Italian investments totaling $7.3 billion. More than 300 Italian companies are actively operating in Kazakhstan.The President highlighted successful collaboration on global goals within the UN, OSCE, Council of Europe, and OECD, expressing Kazakhstan's readiness to strengthen cooperation on global security, regional stability, counterterrorism, and climate change.Prime Minister Meloni acknowledged the robust Kazakh-Italian relations and affirmed Italy's commitment to strengthening ties with Kazakhstan, saying, "We see your visit as an excellent opportunity to enhance Kazakh-Italian relations further."During the meeting, both parties discussed regional and international matters."I am confident that today's negotiations will signify a new stage in our bilateral relations and create a good opportunity to explore promising areas of cooperation," the President of Kazakhstan said.Following the meeting, a joint statement was issued, emphasizing the strong momentum of Kazakh-Italian cooperation. The parties committed to "continue, in the spirit of strategic partnership, diversify, and deepen ties in all areas of mutual interest," according to the joint statement. (ICE ALMATY)
