Tokayev and Maire Tecnimont CEO discuss energy and petrochemical cooperationPresident Kassym-Jomart Tokayev of Kazakhstan discussed potential cooperation in the energy and petrochemical sectors with Maire Tecnimont CEO Alessandro Bernini, according to the head of state's press service.Tokayev acknowledged the company's extensive experience in implementing decarbonization and energy transition projects, coupled with its global presence in 45 countries. He expressed particular interest in Maire Tecnimont's ambitious plans to significantly reduce carbon dioxide emissions and promote green technologies, aligning with Kazakhstan's commitment under the Paris Agreement to achieve carbon neutrality by 2060 and adopt cutting-edge production technologies.Bernini briefed the president on the company's flagship projects worldwide and presented proposals for the development of Kazakhstan's energy sector.  Tokayev acknowledged Maire Tecnimont's role in constructing a gas chemical complex, including an agreement signed in April last year for the complex's polymerization section in the Atyrau region.
