TLC on Kazakhstan – China border to triple cargo turnover at Alakol customs post - Ministry of TransportA new international trade and logistics center Dostyk Storage LLP has opened on the Kazakh-Chinese border near the village of Dostyk, the press service of the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan reported.“New warehouse facilities will allow to increase the capacity of the Alakol customs post of the Dostyk customs from 200 to 600 cargo vehicles per day, thereby increasing the daily cargo turnover from 4,000 to 12,000 tonnes. In annual terms, this will increase the cargo turnover from 1 to 3 million tonnes,” the report says.The logistics center of Dostyk Storage LLP is located on an area of 13.5 hectares, 3.5 hectares of which are occupied by warehouses and infrastructure and 10 hectares are allocated for parking of freight vehicles. Private investments in the project amounted to over 2.8 billion tenge. For 3 years, the complex will be managed by the state company Nur Zholy customs services, the 100% founder of which is the State Revenue Committee.It is noted that this project was implemented by Dostyk Storage LLP together with the State Revenue Committee.
