Cambodia has become the world's 8th largest garment exporter, up from 11th in 2021, according to the World Trade Organisation. The country's garment exports now account for 31.7% of the global market, with China following closely behind. However, Cambodia still has a long way to go in terms of value, with its exports of garments, footwear, and travel (GFT) goods growing by around 15% year-over-year in 2022. The government has renewed its focus on the sector with the Industrial Transformation Map for the Textile and Apparel Industry (T&A ITM) 2023-2027 strategy, aiming to improve working conditions and investment climate.  (ICE BANGKOK)
