On Tuesday, the health, environment, and population committee in the Upper House, chaired by Dr. Yassin Al-Hasban, met with the Minister of Health, Dr. Firas Al-Hawari, to review the steps to implement the ministry’s strategy for the years 2023–2025 and the extent of its alignment with the outputs of the economic modernization vision (EMV).Dr. Hasban stated that the meeting focused on the extent to which the Ministry of Health successfully implemented its strategic plan programs, as well as the efficiency and effectiveness of the sector's digital transformation and the ministry's crisis and disaster management and climate change strategy, Hala reported.He emphasized the need to have an organization that is concerned with all aspects of the health sector's policies and plans, as well as serving as a primary hub for coordination and networking among all stakeholders.Furthermore, Hawari unveiled a roadmap for universal health coverage and the medical tourism plan, stating that the ministry's 2023-2025 strategy is current and applicable, with key indicators that can be monitored and used to reflect on the performance and improvement of the services offered.He pointed out, in the presence of several concerned directors in the ministry, that the strategy was prepared per the Royal Highness’s visions, specifically the Economic Modernization Vision, and aligned with the public sector update map.In turn, the Director of Project Management, Planning, and International Cooperation, Engineer Huda Ababneh, presented the initiatives and priorities in the economic modernization vision related to health care, consisting of eight initiatives.She confirmed that work is currently underway on several projects, including improving supply chains, establishing a virtual hospital, establishing a simulation center, automating services for the ministry in charge of professional licenses, re-licensing, and continuing professional development, updating and developing Al-Bashir Hospital, expanding hospital and health center computerization, and expanding drug delivery services.  (ICE AMMAN)
