PRIME MINISTER OPENS NEW BRIDGE IN BAGHDAD

On Saturday, Prime Minister Mr. Mohammed Shiaa Al-Sudani inaugurated the intersection bridge near the College of Fine Arts in the Rusafa district of Baghdad.This bridge is the first among the traffic congestion relief projects launched by him last year in the capital, Baghdad. TAccording to a statement from the Prime Minister's Office, the project was completed in a record time of 90 working days. During the opening ceremony,At the inauguration ceremony, Mr. Al-Sudani announced the naming of the bridge after the late visual artist Faiq Hassan, highlighting his significant contributions to Iraqi visual arts and his academic role at the College of Fine Arts. The choice of this name conveys a clear message that art and artists are integral to nation-building.The Prime Minister emphasized that the project exemplifies the government's commitment to adhering to project timelines and its ability to overcome time constraints through continuous monitoring and removing obstacles.The event witnessed the hoisting of the Iraqi flag on the largest flagpole in Baghdad, and the national anthem was played by a group of students from the College of Fine Arts.The (Faiq Hassan) Bridge is part of the Ministry of Construction, Housing, Municipalities, and Public Works projects. It includes two bridges, each spanning 420 meters, with approaches, and a width of 9 meters for each bridge. The first bridge connects the road from Al-Mustansiriya University to the road leading to the Al-Sarafiya intersection. The second bridge connects the road from the Al-Sarafiya intersection to the road leading to the College Complex in Bab Al-Muadham and Al-Mustansiriya University.The project also involves the development and expansion of main roads from the College Complex intersection in Bab Al-Muadham to the Al-Sarafiya intersection.
