KINGDOM’S LARGEST COLD STORAGE WAREHOUSE OPENS

Cambodia has opened its first cross-docking warehouse, the Kandal Cold Storage Project, along the Mekong River in Kandal province. The facility aims to prevent food waste and temperature-sensitive agricultural products, a logistics technique that accelerates goods delivery and increases supply chain efficiency. The facility, which is part of a $2 million partnership between USAID and Khmer Cold Chain, will provide valuable services to dozens of import and export customers, directly and indirectly benefiting thousands of Cambodian farmers and consumers. The facility will include a 50-foot cross-dock to serve Cambodian and regional farmers, agribusinesses, food processors, pharmaceutical enterprises, food merchants, and hotel and restaurant catering businesses. The facility is expected to increase Cambodia's cold storage capacity by 140,000 cubic meters by 2030 to meet its supply chain demands. (ICE BANGKOK)
