HOUSEHOLDS KEEN TO SAVE MONEY

According to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS), in 2023 Poland’s GDP grew by 0.2 percent, slightly less than a year earlier and below the forecast of 0.6 percent, with private consumption down by 1 percent, which implies more or less zero growth y/y in Q4, 2023. Commenting on the figures, Credit Agricole experts note that private consumption shrank as Polish households were more eager to save money in the last three months of 2023. The bank’s analysts are also confident that as 2024 progresses, economic recovery will be shored up by declining inflation. (ICE VARSAVIA)
