RED SEA GLOBAL AWARDS AMAALA INFRASTRUCTURE CONTRACT

Saudi Arabia's Red Sea Global (RSG) has awarded a contract to Egyptian contractor SIAC Construction for the development of support assets and infrastructure for Amaala Staff Village zone five. The contract covers the construction of 30 buildings which include administrative, commercial and operations buildings and other facilities such as cinemas, dining areas, mosques, sports facilities and a library. The Egyptian contractors have done a considerable amount of work on the Amaala project. Earlier last month, RSG awarded a joint venture of Hassan Allam Construction Saudi, the local affiliate of Egypt’s Hassan Allam, and the local Rawabi Specialised Contracting the contract to build the medical wellness resort at Amaala’s Wellness Core development. The development includes a 70-key hotel, 13 branded residences and villas covering an area of 84,095 sq m. The award followed the deal signed in early May with a joint venture of Egypt's Hassan Allam Holding and the local Rawabi Specialised Contracting to construct the Triple Bay Rosewood Hotel. RSG also awarded the Hassan Allam/Rawabi joint venture the contract to build the Rosewood Residence and Hotel project at Triple Bay earlier last year. Amaala is a coastal development that covers an area of about 2,500 square kilometres and will be developed in phases. Phase one, focused on the Triple Bay masterplan, is expected to be completed in 2027. It will consist of eight resorts offering upwards of 1,200 hotel keys. The total development will include 27 hotels with a combined 37,000 keys. RSG has adopted a construction management approach to deliver its projects. Schemes are divided into individual trade works packages procured by the developer rather than awarded to a series of main contractors. There are typically about 20 works packages for each project.
