According to the latest data from Eurostat, on 1 January 2024 the minimum wage in Poland, calculated in the common currency, rose to EUR978, which represents an increase by a whopping 31 percent compared with January 2023 and which puts Poland in first place among the EU countries. In the national currency the minimum wage rose by 21.5 percent, to PLN4,242, and in this respect Poland ranks first too, ahead of Hungary, Croatia and Bulgaria, where the minimum wage increased by ca. 20 percent too, however, in these countries it is considerably lower than in Poland.
