The latest data published by Clicktrans show that in 2023, car imports grew by 14% compared with 2022, with luxury cars representing 13% of total imports, up by 6 percentage points y/y. As prices of new cars continued to rise and problems with new car availability persisted, it was often more profitable to import a car from abroad rather than buy a new one at a dealership. The figures compiled by Clicktrans also show that last year, costs of importing a car from abroad averaged at PLN2,039, which is 14% more than in 2022, and that the biggest increases were recorded in car imports from Sweden and the UK, i.e. by 40% and 37% respectively.
