VINEBOX PROJECT: A SUSTAINABLE PAPER REEL FROM VINE PRUNING.

Led by a consortium, the Vinebox project has achieved a groundbreaking milestone in wine industry sustainability by successfully developing a paper reel from vine pruning residues. This breakthrough signifies a significant advancement in promoting efficiency and sustainability within the sector, highlighting biomass as a renewable source for bioproduct production. Moreover, it signifies a pivotal stride toward Vinebox's overarching objective of producing entirely sustainable packaging and labels for participating wineries. The paper reel, crafted from high-quality Naturcell® cellulose, meets stringent quality standards and will undergo thorough testing to ensure reliability. Financed by the European Union and Centro para el Desarrollo Tecnológico y la Innovación (Cdti) with Feder funds totaling €879,539.00 over 30 months, this project exemplifies how collaborative innovation can yield sustainable solutions, emphasizing the wine industry's dedication to environmental preservation and sustainability.
