EDB raises Kazakhstan's GDP growth forecast to 5.1% in 2024The Kazakhstan economy is anticipated to show robust growth, with the Eurasian Development Bank (EDB) projecting a 5.1% increase in 2024.This is an upward revision from the bank's previous forecast at the end of 2023, which predicted a growth of 5% in 2024.“We believe that investment activity, stimulated by government measures to increase the attractiveness of Kazakhstan for investors, will continue to play the role of a key driver of growth. We forecast an increase in GDP by 5.1% by the end of 2024,” the information says.EDB notes that investment will continue to form the basis of GDP growth in 2024.At the same time, according to EDB forecast, the consumer prices growth in 2024 is estimated at 7.1% year-on-year.In addition, EDB estimates that the base rate could be reduced to 10% by the end of 2024. The National Bank of Kazakhstan reduced the base rate by 0.5% to 15.25% in January.As reported, GDP grew by 5.1% in 2023.
