China is Kazakhstan's main trading partner in 2023 – QaztradeChina has become Kazakhstan’s largest trading partner in 2023, leaving Russia behind, according to a report published Trade Policy Development Center QazTrade JSC.Trade turnover between Kazakhstan and China in 2023 amounted to $31.5 billion or an increase of 30% from 2022. Trade turnover with Russia, which is Kazakhstan’s second largest trading partner, came to $26 billion in 2023 or a decrease of 3.7% from the previous year.Italy remained the third largest trading partner of the republic with a trade turnover of $16.1 billion (up 8%).In 2023, the fourth place was shared by South Korea with a trade turnover of $6 billion or down 1.6% and Turkey with $6 million or down 4.8% compared with 2022.The Netherlands was Kazakhstan’s fifth largest trading partner in 2023 with a trade turnover of $4.4 billion or a drop of 24% from the previous year.Last year, Kazakhstan‘s total trade turnover stood at $139.8 billion, which is an increase of 3.2% compared with the previous year, according QazTrade. In 2023, the republic’s exports declined by 7% to make $78.7 billion, while imports rose by 20.1% to reach $61.1 billion. (ICE ALMATY)
