SHARED TRANSPORT SECTOR FACES CHALLENGES

In the opinion of the Mobile City association, the shared transport sector, which comprises bike-, scooter- and car-sharing companies, is struggling to get back on its feet as shared mobility hasn’t turned into a habit for Polish city dwellers. Nextbike, the main player on the bike-sharing market, was close to going bankrupt in 2020 and is currently undergoing operating and financial restructuring. In the scooter-sharing segment, Bird has gone bankrupt while Tier and Dott have joined forces. Finally, as regards carsharing, 4Mobility is conducting a strategic options review while Panek is at risk of insolvency. (ICE VARSAVIA)
