The Jagiellonian Institute and the Polish Wind Energy Association (PSEW) have analysed three variants of energy transition in Poland, estimating potential costs of each. Variant A assumes the slowest pace of energy transition towards renewable energy sources, variant C – the fastest while variant B is an intermediate option. The report shows that total costs of energy transition in Poland in the period of 2025-2040 exceed PLN1,500bn in each of the variants. The cheapest is variant A with costs of PLN1,558bn and the most expensive is variant C with costs of PLN1,690bn, with costs of variant B estimated at PLN1,608bn. (ICE VARSAVIA)
