Kazakhstan's January 2024 agricultural output slightly upIn January 2024, agricultural production in Kazakhstan totaled 247.986 billion tenge, a slight decrease of 0.4% compared to January 2023, as reported by the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms.Livestock products contributed 231.973 billion tenge to this total, marking a 0.4% increase, while crop production remained steady at 12.655 billion tenge, similar to January 2023 levels.During this period, there was a 1.4% rise in the number of cattle to 8.388 million heads and a 3% increase in horses to 4.166 million heads. However, the number of sheep decreased by 0.3% to 19.164 million heads, poultry decreased by 0.2% to 45.914 million heads, pigs decreased by 3.2% to 530 thousand heads, and goats saw a 9.2% drop to 1.934 million heads.
