Tokayev instructs QazaqGaz to ensure stable gas supply to domestic market President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev instructed Chairman of the Board of National Company QazaqGaz JSC Sanzhar Zharkeshov to ensure stability of gas supplies to the domestic market, the presidential press service reported.According to the press service, on Thursday the head of state received Zharkeshov and heard a report on the results of the national company’s work for 2023, and the plans for the coming period.Zharkeshov reported on the progress of implementing large-scale infrastructure projects, new directions for processing Kashagan gas, as well as attracting investments in the gas industry in the amount of $12 billion.According to him, the QazaqGaz group of companies built and put into operation the gas pipelines worth over 400 billion tenge, which are of social and economic importance for the development of the regions.The head of state was informed about the work on gasification of the country: In 11 regions of the country 112 settlements were connected to the gas supply system, which provided gas for 213,000 people. Over the past year, the company subsidized gas prices for the domestic market for the amount of 175 billion tenge. At the same time, NC QazaqGaz JSC meets its obligations for the export and transit of natural gas.The president was provided with information on the commissioning of the new Anabay gas field, and work on development of gas resource base. Thanks to the measures taken, the volume of gas supplies to the domestic market of Kazakhstan increased by 19%.During peak loads on the gas transportation system in a period of abnormally low temperatures, the national company fully satisfied the needs of the domestic market and ensured uninterrupted gas supply to the country's residents.“Following the meeting, the president gave a number of instructions aimed at the comprehensive development of the gas industry, including stable provision of gas to the domestic market, expanding the resource base, solving system problems of the industry and improving its investment attractiveness,” the statement said.QazaqGaz manages the infrastructure for transporting gas through main gas pipelines and gas distribution networks, provides international transit and sells gas on the domestic and foreign markets, develops, finances, builds and operates pipelines and gas storage facilities.
