LBBC TRADE DELEGATION ENDS BUSY TRIPOLI VISIT – CONTINUES TO ZLITEN AND MISRATA

A Libyan British Business Council (LBBC) trade delegation ended its visit to Tripoli last week, part of its expanded visit from 19-23 February to include Zliten and Misrata.The group of LBBC business representatives included senior officials from Bank ABC, the British Arab Commercial Bank and companies in the oil and gas, education, security and infrastructure sectors.The delegation called on the General Libyan Union of Chambers of Commerce, the Libya Businessmen’s Council, and the National Oil Corporation. They also held a conference focusing on banking and infrastructure at which the Governor of the Central Bank, Saddek El-Kabeer gave the keynote speech.The British Ambassador, Dr Martin Longden hosted a reception at which the British trade delegates were able to meet and develop relations with Libyan business contacts.Peter Millett, the Chairman of the LBBC, told Libya Herald: “British companies are here in Libya and keen to do business. We are optimistic about the future of the Libyan economy and ready to form constructive partnerships with Libyan economic institutions and companies to help to build a better future for the Libyan people.” (ICE TRIPOLI)
