THE EUROPEAN PARLIAMENT APPROVED THE ALLOCATION OF €50B FOR UKRAINE OVER FOUR YEARS.

However, the €50B EU program will receive final approval in April. “The regulations for disbursement of funds under the EU program contain final conditions, which will be approved by the government in March and submitted for consideration by the EC,” noted the Minister of Economy of Ukraine, Yulia Svyridenko. The Minister of Finance of Ukraine, Serhiy Marchenko, announced that in 2024, Ukraine expects to receive €16B ($17.34B) in budget support from the EU as part of the Ukraine Facility program. In addition, also according to Marchenko, another €2B in funds are directed toward capital investments. In 2025, €12B in assistance is expected to be received to help finance the state budget. Marchenko added that in March, the first €4.5B from the EU, $1.5B from the World Bank’s development loan (DPL), and up to $900M from the fourth tranche from the IMF under the EFF program are expected to be received. The minister believes that the necessary US decisions on supporting Ukraine will be made, and the overall $37B external financing plan for the budget will be fulfilled. (ICE LEOPOLI)
