Ukraine has received $760M in grants from Japan and Norway to pay pensions and salaries to rescue workers and teachers. The money comes as part of the World Bank’s PEACE project. The government of Japan allocated $465M, and $295M came from Norway. In 2024, Ukraine has received around $1.2B in foreign financial aid from donors through the World Bank project. Almost 75% of these funds are from Japan, which has become Ukraine’s most significant financial donor while assistance from the EU and the US is delayed. Meanwhile, as reported by the Ministry of Economy, within the framework of the EU4Business program funded by the EU and the German government, micro, small, and medium-sized enterprises in Ukraine with export capacity and innovative potential are eligible to receive one of 100 grants of up to €10,000 each for recovery, development, and increased resilience in times of war.
