Inflation in Kazakhstan at 1.1% in Feb, annual inflation at 9.3%Inflation in Kazakhstan came in at 1.1% in February 2024 compared to 0.8% in January 2024, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.The annual inflation (February 2024 to February 2023) amounted to 9.3%.In February 2024, the prices for food products increased by 7.4% compared with the previous month, the prices for non-food items grew by 8.5% and for services by 12.8%.In February 2024, the annual inflation rate exceeding the country’s average was observed in ten regions, with the highest in Karaganda (11.5%), East Kazakhstan (10.2%) and Mangistau (10%) regions.Compared with February of the previous year, tariffs on wastewater disposal in February 2024 rose by 33.9%, central heating by 30.9%, cold water supply by 30.8%, garbage collection by 30.7%, hot water supply by 29.4% and electricity by 19.9%.Taxi rides rose by 11.7% in price, city buses by 9.3%, rail tickets grew by 8.7%, while airfares declined by 4%.Prices for diesel increased by 14.5%, gasoline by 13.6% and bottled liquefied gas by 12.9%.In 2022, the inflation in Kazakhstan stood at 9.8%.
