Kazakhstan's oil production rises by 7% to 90 million tonnes in 2023At the end of 2023, Kazakhstan produced 90 million tonnes of oil, a 7% increase from 2022, Kazakh Energy Minister Almasadam Satkaliyev said on Tuesday.In 2022, the production stood at 84.2 million tonnes, according to the minister's report distributed by the press service.Satkaliyev noted that oil exports in 2023 reached 70.5 million tonnes, a 9.6% rise from the previous year.Earlier, the Energy Minister announced that by the end of 2023, Kazakhstan had produced about 90 million tonnes of oil, aiming initially for the output to reach 93 million tonnes. However, due to repairs at oil enterprises and compliance with Kazakhstan's commitments under the OPEC+ deal, these plans fell short.The Ministry of Energy previously announced a target of 90.3 million tonnes for oil production in 2024.
