POLISH-UKRAINIAN TRADE ON THE RISE

According to the latest data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS), in 2023 Poland’s trade with Ukraine increased considerably, with exports growing by 113.3 percent y/y to PLN51.7bn and imports by 72.2 percent y/y to PLN20.3bn, which led to a record trade balance in favour of Poland, reaching PLN31.4bn. The data also show that key exports included fuels and mineral oils and products of their distillation (PLN9.7bn), petroleum oils and oils from bituminous substances (PLN7.3bn) as well as plastics and products thereof (PLN2.8bn). Meanwhile, top imports included base metals, animal and vegetable fats and oils as well as vegetable products (PLN4.6bn, PLN2.8bn and PLN2.3bn respectively). (ICE VARSAVIA)
