Azerbaijan's SOCAR, KazMunayGas discuss Kazakh oil transit plansPresident of Azerbaijan's State Oil Company (SOCAR), Rovshan Najaf, and CEO of Kazakh company KazMunayGas, Magzum Mirzagaliyev, met in Baku on Saturday to discuss the transit of Kazakh oil.The parties explored increasing volumes through the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan pipeline and transporting oil via the Baku-Supsa pipeline."SOAR is a crucial strategic partner for KazMunayGas. We believe that the gradual rise in Kazakh oil transit volumes will invigorate our mutually beneficial cooperation,” Mirzagaliyev said.SOCAR highlighted the parties' contentment with the thriving bilateral relations across all sectors, saying that the roadmap, inked between SOCAR and KMG last year, paves the way for substantial cooperation expansion.Discussions also covered areas like oil refining, transit, and trade.KazMunayGas reported shipping 1.057 million tonnes of oil from Aktau port in 2023 and 232,000 tonnes in January-February 2024.
