LOCAL FIRM WINS JIZAN INDUSTRIAL BUILDINGS PROJECT

Saudi Arabia's Royal Commission for Jubail & Yanbu (RCJY) has awarded a $45m contract to the local contractor Built Industrial Company, a subsidiary of Saudi-based Ladun Investment Company. The contract covers the establishment of 38 prefabricated buildings for industries over an area of 154,490 square metres (sq m) in Jizan City for Basic & Transformative Industries, in addition to two buildings for security guards covering an area of ​​38,756 sq m. The scope of work also includes site preparation, excavation and backfilling, paving and levelling, roads and parking lots, road planning, directional signs, sidewalks, lighting, landscaping and all other associated work. The duration of the contract is 730 days. The awarding of this contract follows the award of a $49m contract by RCJY in January for the construction of the headquarters for Jizan City for Basic & Downstream Industries. In January, RCJY also awarded a $50m contract to Built Industrial Company to construct a residential development. Built Industrial Company and RCJY signed an agreement worth $61m in November to build housing units. Also that month,  Saudi Arabia's Jubail & Yanbu Industrial Cities Services Company (Jabeen) and private real estate developer Retal Urban Development Company had signed an agreement worth $320m.
