CREATIVE ECONOMY: A NEW SOURCE OF GROWTH FOR ADVANCED INDONESIA

The success of Taylor Swift's six-day concert in Singapore demonstrates the power of the creative economy, with Singapore estimated to earn between US $260 million and US $375 million in tourism receipts. This event serves as a benchmark for Indonesia's creative economy, which has great potential but is not yet optimally developed. The government must support the creative economy through public-private partnerships and develop infrastructure, licensing, and event organization. Indonesia's creative sector contributes to the country's GDP in the top three in the world, with competitive advantages in nature, culture, and adventure. However, challenges such as financing, intellectual property protection, and technology access remain. The government must support these efforts through skilled human resources, adequate infrastructure, and financial access. This requires 360-degree cross-sector collaboration and public policies that support the future government. The creative economy can contribute significantly to Indonesia's economic growth, with a target of an 8% contribution to the national GDP by 2030. The sector, along with tourism, can contribute 15-20% of GDP. The government aims to increase the creative economy's contribution to IDR 4,500 trillion by 15 years. The creative economy contributed IDR 1,153.4 trillion to GDP in 2019, with export value reaching 19.68 billion US dollars and workforce absorption reaching 15.2 million people. To improve the ecosystem, the government needs to facilitate intellectual property, support infrastructure, and provide financing. The government plans to implement two funding models: the Indonesian Tourism Fund (ITF) and creative economics funds for financing. Tax incentives should be introduced to encourage creative economy actors, as they comply with Indonesian National Standards (SNI). The transition preparation team is entrusted with the responsibility of mainstreaming the creative economy.Link di fonte: https://www.kompas.id/baca/ekonomi/2024/03/07/ekonomi-kreatif-lokomotif-indonesia-maju?open_from=Ekonomi_Page (ICE GIACARTA)
