Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy criticizes Kazakhstan’s intention to close its market to products certified in KyrgyzstanThe Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy regards the draft resolution of the Kazakh Government on a ban of products certified in Kyrgyzstan as a barrier to the functioning of the internal market of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU).“The Ministry of Economy and Commerce of Kyrgyzstan expresses its concern regarding the draft resolution of the Government of Kazakhstan posted for public discussion on the introduction of a ban on the release into circulation in Kazakhstan of products accompanied by conformity assessment documents of a single form, having registration numbers of the EAEU KG, issued or accepted after July 1, 2024 year,” the press service of the Kyrgyz Ministry of Economy reported on Tuesday.According to the press service, the adoption by Kazakhstan of this resolution is regarded as an obstacle in the functioning of the internal market of the Eurasian Economic Union, since it limits access for entrepreneurs of the EAEU member states to the internal market of the Union and may create a precedent for the non-recognition of conformity assessment documents.“As part of the systematic work to prevent violations of conformity assessment procedures, as well as the fight against “gray certificates,” on March 7, a joint action plan was developed and signed between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan to combat unscrupulous accreditation entities,” the press service noted. The Ministry of Economy of Kyrgyzstan intends to hold consultations on this issue with the Department of Technical Regulation of the Eurasian Economic Commission, as well as with all interested parties of the Union.According to Kazinform, from July 1, Kazakhstan intends to introduce a ban on the release into circulation of products licensed in Kyrgyzstan. The Committee for Technical Regulation and Metrology of the Ministry of Trade and Integration of Kazakhstan stated that the Kyrgyz bodies for quality confirmation issue conformity assessment documents with violations and without conducting appropriate tests.
