LOWEST BIDDER EMERGES FOR KUWAIT MEDICAL CITY

Kuwaiti contractor Combined Group Contracting Company (CGCC) has emerged as the lowest bidder for a contract to develop the infrastructure of the planned Kuwait Medical City in the country's capital, Kuwait City.In a statement published on the company's website, CGCC said that it has submitted a bid with a value of around KD104m ($343m), but has not yet received a letter of award from the government.Wafra Real Estate Company is developing the project through Kuwait Medical City Company.The contract duration is 24 months.In January, the local press reported that Kuwait Medical City Company is actively pursuing approvals from various government agencies, including the ministries of electricity, water, renewable energy and public works, as well as the General Authority for Roads and Land Transport.CGCC has recently won several major infrastructure development contracts in Kuwait and abroad.The company confirmed in March that Kuwait's Ministry of Public Works had awarded it a KD15.2m ($49.6m) contract for the infrastructure works of Qordoba phase 11.
