Kazakhstan sends 15,000 tonnes of fuel oil to Tajikistan as aidKazakhstan has provided 15,000 tonnes of fuel oil to Tajikistan as humanitarian assistance, the Kazakh Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday.Last Tuesday, Kazakh Ambassador Valikhan Turekhanov handed over the fuel oil certificate to Tajikistan's Deputy Director of the Agency for State Material Reserves, Sohibjon Ziyodulloev.Ambassador Turekhanov emphasized that the decision to offer humanitarian aid, totaling 2.542 billion tenge (approximately 5.65 million US dollars), was initiated by Kazakh President Kassym-Jomart Tokayev. The aid aims to support a stable operation of Tajikistan's vital energy infrastructure."The delivery of humanitarian aid is facilitated by the Kazakhstan Agency for International Development (KazAID). It demonstrates our commitment to bolstering energy security and strengthening the longstanding strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Tajikistan,” according to the press release.According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Kazakhstan has provided over $50 million in humanitarian aid to Tajikistan since 2006.
