NEOM PREPARES OXAGON VILLAGE RESIDENTIAL TENDER

Oxagon, the industrial city planned at Neom, is close to completing the advanced design works for a residential village, and the tender for the construction of the project's first phase is expected in Q2 this year. "The project will be developed in four phases. The project's first phase will likely be awarded by the end of this year. The Oxagon residential village will be built on an area of 1.5 square kilometres. It will comprise 60 residential buildings with around 8,500 apartments catering to 17,000 residents. The development will also include schools, hospitals, offices, sports facilities, hotels and restaurants. The project will be delivered using the modular construction method, whereby pre-fabricated modules are assembled on-site. The first residential precincts are expected to be completed and ready for residents by the end of Q1 2026. Oxagon Village is the core residential component of the Oxagon masterplan. The project will be built offshore next to the new port and logistics centre, and will have residential units ranging from studio to five-bedroom apartments. US-based design, architecture and engineering firm HOK is undertaking the design works. In August last year, the detailed design works for the Oxagon residential village have reached an advanced stage and could compete by the end of the year. The other most significant scheme progressing at Oxagon is the Terminal 1 project of the Oxagon port. Contractors submitted bids in January for an estimated $3,24bn design-and-build contract to deliver infrastructure and building works for Terminal 1 of the port. The contract award is expected in the second quarter of this year. The packages are the latest to be tendered for the port. In October, Neom selected the joint venture of Belgium’s Deme and Greece’s Archirodon for the estimated $1bn contract to complete the next phase of the Duba port expansion at Oxagon.   The second phase follows the award of a contract to deliver the first phase of the port expansion. A team of Boskalis, Besix and the local Modern Building Leaders was awarded that estimated $800m contract in mid-January. An expanded Duba port is a critical component of Oxagon and the broader Neom development, as it will allow greater volumes of materials to be imported for the project. Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman launched Oxagon in late 2021. It will include onshore elements as well as floating structures offshore. Construction works on the 48 square-kilometre, eight-sided industrial city have already started.   For registration as supplier: https://www.neom.com/en-us/our-business/suppliers (ICE RIYADH)
