THAILAND TO INTRODUCE DIGITAL LOTTERY OUTLETS ON MARCH 17TH

The Government Lottery Office (GLO) in Thailand is set to launch the sale of digital lottery tickets through registered dealers starting on March 17th. The digital tickets will be available at a controlled price of 80 baht, and customers must use the Pao Tang app to purchase them within a specified timeframe. The Pao Tang platform, established in 2022, offers approximately 23 million digital tickets for each bi-weekly draw. Despite Thailand's strict gambling laws, illegal casinos continue to thrive in major cities like Bangkok and Pattaya. The introduction of digital lottery outlets is part of the government's larger strategy to regulate the gambling industry and promote responsible gaming practices. The government's strict control over online gambling is evident in its efforts to monitor unauthorized activities and take legal action against perpetrators. The government aims to provide a regulated and responsible avenue for gambling enthusiasts, ensuring a safe and secure environment for players while generating revenue for social welfare programs.
