FIRMS GET MORE TIME TO EXPRESS INTEREST IN ARAMCO PROJECT

Saudi Aramco has allowed third-party investors more time to express interest in building a sulphur handling facility at Ras Al Khair port that will facilitate the receiving, formation, storage and export of molten sulphur. As more sulphur recovery projects come online, several Aramco gas treatment and processing plants in the kingdom and the Eastern Province will discharge increased volumes of sulphur. Existing and planned sulphur handling facilities in the Eastern Province may not be able to handle the incremental volumes of sulphur generated by Aramco assets in the future. A grassroots sulphur handling complex at Ras Al Khair port is expected to meet this requirement. To be built on a public-private partnership (PPP) basis, the proposed facility is set to come online by 2029. Aramco issued the solicitation of interest (SoI) document to relevant PPP project developers “in late February”, with firms initially required to express interest by 13 March. Interested parties now have until 20 March to submit responses to the SoI document. (ICE RIYADH)
