INDONESIA STRESSES ON ACTIVE, FAIR PARTICIPATION OF ALL IPEF PARTNERS

Indonesia emphasises active and fair participation of all Indo-Pacific Economic Framework for Prosperity (IPEF) partner countries in implementing the cooperation framework, Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs Airlangga Hartarto said on Sunday (17/3). Indonesia focuses on the operationalisation of IPEF agreements by emphasising active and fair participation for all IPEF participating countries. In the IPEF virtual ministerial meeting on Thursday (14/3), Airlangga said Indonesia welcomed the plan to sign the IPEF agreement in Singapore in June 2024, that includes the Pillar III related to clean energy and Pillar IV on fair economy. Indonesia also praised the US-sponsored workshops that served as follow-up initiatives to IPEF's Pillar IV. Meanwhile, US Secretary of Commerce, Gina Raimondo, expressed her appreciation to all IPEF partner countries for having completed the IPEF negotiations in just two years, and appreciated the active participation of partner countries in the four new Cooperative Work Programs (CWPs), namely the carbon market, clean electricity, just transition, and sustainable aviation fuel development.
