INDONESIA PROPOSES INJECTING EUR 3.4 BILLION INTO STATE FIRMS IN 2024 AND 2025

Indonesia's government has proposed to top up investment in state companies by IDR 57.8 trillion (EUR 3.4 billion) in 2024 and 2025, including for construction companies to finish infrastructure projects. State-Owned Enterprises (SOEs) Minister Erick Thohir presented the proposals to the Commission VI, which oversees SOEs matters, on Tuesday (19/3). The total amount of the proposals for 2024 is IDR 13.6 trillion (EUR 800.7 million) for seven companies, while the proposed capital injection in 2025 amounts to IDR 44.25 trillion (EUR 2.6 billion) for 16 companies. Four major construction SOEs are some of the intended recipients. Hutama Karya, which has been building a toll road along the Sumatra island, is to receive the bulk of the capital injection, worth an additional IDR 1.6 trillion (EUR 94.2 million) in 2024 and IDR 13.9 trillion (EUR 818 million) in 2025. State electricity company Perusahaan Listrik Negara (PLN) is to receive IDR 3 trillion (EUR 176.6 million) for powering villages. Thohir said he put the proposals forward despite the change of President in October following last month's elections, so as to ensure the completion of projects. Nonetheless, the proposals will still need to be approved by lawmakers before they are executed.Link di fonte: https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/indonesia-proposes-injecting-$3.7-bln-into-state-firms-in-2024-2025-minister-says (ICE GIACARTA)
