The Indonesian government claims it has completed the construction of 195 National Strategic Projects (PSNs) worth IDR 1,519 trillion (EUR 89.4 billion) in the 2016-2024 period. Coordinating Minister for Economic Affairs, Airlangga Hartanto, said on Monday (18/2) that 105 projects are fully operational now, while 90 projects with the value of IDR 2,960.7 trillion (EUR 174.3 billion) are either still in the construction or partial production phase or partial operation phase. The government aims to complete 41 PSNs this year, ranging from toll roads, irrigation system, to fertiliser factory, stating major challenges are mainly related to land provision and spatial planning. Hartarto added, President Joko “Jokowi” Widodo has also agreed to add 14 new PSNs, which will be wholly funded by the private sector.
