The latest data from the Central Statistical Office (GUS) show that in February 2024 industrial new orders fell by 2.7 % y/y, compared with a decrease by 15 % recorded in the preceding month, and declined by 2.7 % m/m, compared with an increase by 15.4 % a month earlier. The data also show that in February, export and import orders shrank by 3.2 % y/y and by 2.7 % m/m. As noted by the statistical office, industrial new orders declined in most of the categories surveyed, including the manufacture of clothing (by ca. 50 %), the manufacture of metals (ca. 22 %) or the manufacture of other transport equipment.
