Data published by the Central Bank of Lebanon shows that electricity production increased by 19.4% year-on-year in the first nine months of 2023. The production totaled 2,851 million Kilowatt Hours (kWh) during the first  nine months of 2023, up from 2,388 million kWh in the first nine months of the year prior.  The aforementioned increase follows a noticeable contraction in electricity production between the first nine  months of 2022 and the same period of 2021 with total production being recorded at 6,473 million kWh in the  latter. However, the trend in electricity production has been contractionary up until August 2023 where the trend  was reversed into positive growth in the production of electricity in Lebanon. (ICE BEIRUT)
