CONSUMERS KEEN TO SHOP IN SMALL STORES

A retail survey conducted by Cushman & Wakefield shows that 66 percent of respondents visit small, local stores up to several times a week, mainly out of convenience, with 36 percent of respondents shopping online at least once a week and half – up to a few times a month. The survey also shows that retail parks and shopping centres report a similar frequency of consumer trips, with 32 percent and 33 percent of Polish people going there at last once a week respectively. Commenting on the results, Ewa Derlatka-Chilewicz, Head of Research at Cushman & Wakefield, notes that discount stores top the league table for larger grocery shopping in excess of PLN100. “They are favoured by 62 percent of survey respondents,” she adds.
