EU, INDIA IN PARTNERSHIP FOR THRUST ON START-UP IN EV BATTERY RECYCLING

The European Union (EU) and India have announced a collaborative initiative, which will foster start-up partnerships to bolster the recycling of electric vehicle (EV) batteries. The collaboration falls under the ambit of the India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC), in a joint commitment to sustainable development and technological innovation. An Expression of Interest (EoI) was launched for startups engaged in battery recycling technologies for electric vehicles. This initiative is designed to enhance cooperation between small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and startups from both regions, for knowledge exchange and expertise crucial for advancing circular economy practices and achieving carbon neutrality goals.Scheduled for June 2024, a matchmaking event will provide a platform for selected innovators from the EU and India to showcase their solutions. Twelve startups, six from each region, will be chosen to pitch their technologies, and six finalists will get the opportunity to visit their counterparts' regions, thereby facilitating potential collaborative ventures. While identifying and supporting startups and SMEs at the forefront of battery recycling technology, the initiative will explore new trade avenues, and unlock investment opportunities for these pioneering firms. With this, innovators are being encouraged to seize this opportunity and explore partnerships, based on sustainability and innovation for a flourishing circular economy. https://www.projectstoday.com/News/EU-India-in-partnership-for-thrust-on-start-up-in-EV-battery-recycling (ICE MUMBAI)
