KAZAKHSTAN-GASOLINE-PRICES-RISE

Kazakhstan to rise gasoline prices for foreign citizensKazakhstan’s Ministry of Energy has prepared a draft order raising prices for gasoline and diesel fuel for foreign citizens in order to avoid its unauthorized movement and illegal export, the ministry said in a Thursday press release. The draft order has been published in the Open Online Legal Database for discussion.Owing to ongoing regulation efforts by the Kazakh government, the gasoline and petroleum products prices in Kazakhstan are now the lowest compared with those in the other states participating in the Eurasian Economic Union, which leads to a high risk of unauthorized movement and “gray” export of gasoline and petroleum products to other countries. According to the proposed order the price for RON-92 and RON-93 gasoline will be set at 245 tenge per liter, according to the press release. At the moment the gasoline price for foreign citizens is 205 tenge per liter, which is the same as for the residents of Kazakhstan, the Energy Ministry told Interfax-Kazakhstan.After the order comes into force, the holders of driving licenses issued by Kazakhstan will pay 205 tenge per liter of gasoline if they buy up to 100 liters a day. The drivers that hold Kazakhstan-issued driving licenses and own Kazakhstan-registered motorcycles, light-duty cars, trucks, specialized vehicles and buses will be able to buy up to 300 liters of gasoline a day at a price of 205 tenge per liter, the ministry said. The diesel price will be 315 tenge per liter for foreign citizens and 295 tenge for the citizens of Kazakhstan. Thus the new order will keep the gasoline and diesel prices unchanged for the holders of Kazakhstan-issued driving licenses whose vehicles are also registered in the republic. The Energy Ministry also added that Kazakhstan has a sufficient stock of gasoline, diesel and petroleum products.
