ArcelorMittal Poland has announced that it will invest over PLN100m in its cold rolling mill in Cracow, and the program will cover such projects as replacement of engines in the rolling mill, modernization of the sheet pickling line and purchase of a new grinder. Once the program is completed, the company’s galvanizing plant will produce the Optigal substrate based on zinc, magnesium, and aluminum, with increased corrosion resistance. As noted by ArcelorMittal, Optigal coated sheets will be used mainly in the construction industry, and the product will be sold not only in Poland, but in Central and Eastern Europe too, including the Czech Republic and Slovakia.
