Kazakhstan's industrial output grew 3.8% in Jan-MarchThe industrial production in January-March 2024 increased by 3.8% year over year to reach 11.524 trillion tenge in value, the Bureau of National Statistics of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.In the first quarter of this year, the output grew by 1.9% in the mineral extraction and mining industry compared with the same period of the previous year, including an increase of 0.3% in oil and gas production, 7.3% in metal ore extraction and 9.4% in mining services.The production volume in the manufacturing industry rose by 5.6% to 5.122 trillion tenge, including a growth of 11.4% in the chemical industry, 4.3% in the metallurgical industry, 24.9% in the car-making industry, 23.6% in the production of metal goods excluding machinery and equipment, and 100% in the output of other finished goods.The reporting period saw a 5.5% rise in the output by the power, gas, steam, hot water supply and air conditioning sectors and a 2.7% increase in the water supply, sewage and waste disposal sectors.
