Kazakhstan’s construction output grew 15.9% in Jan-MarchConstruction output in Kazakhstan totaled 855.6 billion tenge in value in January-March 2024, which is an increase of 15.9% year over year, the National Statistics Bureau of the Agency for Strategic Planning and Reforms said.In the reporting period, construction and installation works rose by 18.5% to 767.3 billion tenge in value compared to the same period of the previous year, major repairs decreased by 13.8%, and scheduled maintenance went up by 13.7%.As many as 6,991 new buildings were put into operation in January-March 2024, including 6,525 residential buildings.In the 1st quarter of this year, as much as 572.3 billion tenge was allocated for housing construction, which accounted for 20.3% of all fixed capital investment in the republic.In the financing structure, the own funds of the developers made up 90.4% of all investment in this sector.In January-March 2024, Kazakhstan put into service 3.47 million square meters of new residential floor space or an increase of 2.6% year over year.In the reporting period, average construction costs per square meter increased by 3.7%.The population of Kazakhstan is 20 million people.
