According to the Chairman of the Board of Directors and General Manager of the Lebanese Banque De l’Habitat(BDH), the Lebanese Council of Ministers decided to authorize the Development and Reconstruction Council(DRC) to communicate with the Abu Dhabi Development Fund (ADDF). This comes as BDH was preparinga request for such a loan from ADDF, the DRC will be tasked with requesting the loan and negotiating withADDF.  Prior to this loan, the BDH had already received a loan of KWD 50 million (US$ 165 million) from the ArabFund for Economic and Social Development. These loans are in turn used to assist Lebanese households withlimited and medium income to obtain housing loans.  It is worth noting that the Council of Ministers approved BDH’s request based on available documents  showing compliance from the bank in following loan conditions in 1993 and in 2009 as well as compliance  with withdrawal and repayment conditions.
