ALSTOM WINS JEDDAH AIRPORT DEAL

Jeddah Airports Company (Jedco) has awarded France's Alstom a contract to increase the capacity of the Innovia automated people-mover (APM) system at King Abdulaziz International airport in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. Alstom’s scope of work covers the full system upgrade, including design, engineering, supply, integration, testing and commissioning of the APM system at Terminal 1 of the airport. The scope also includes the addition of four new Innovia APM cars, to be added to the current fleet of 10. Alstom will also upgrade the signalling and communication systems, implement platform screen doors, carry out cybersecurity enhancements and establish a new operational control room. In October 2022, Alstom was awarded a $53m five-year operation and maintenance contract (O&M) from June 2022 to 2027 by Jedco. The company first secured a contract for O&M work at the airport from August 2019 until June 2021. Jeddah's King Abdulaziz International airport is one of Saudi Arabia’s largest airports, occupying an area of 102 square kilometres and welcoming up to 30 million passengers a year. Alstom has other O&M contracts in Saudi Arabia. The company has also supported the Haramain high-speed rail line between Mecca and Medina and supplies an integrated metro system for lines three, four, five and six, as well as providing maintenance for these lines.   For more information: https://www.jed-airport.com/ For registration as supplier: https://projectsuppliers.net/en/user/register (ICE RIYADH)
