ORGANISATIONS FACE HIGHER SALARY EXPENSES

According to the latest data released by the Central Statistical Office (GUS), in 2023 companies keeping books of account that submit F01 reports to the GUS spent a total of PLN678.7bn on salaries, 14 percent or PLN85.5bn more than in 2022. As noted by the GUS, these companies employed 5.6 million people, a figure that represents one third of the Polish labour market. However, the data also show that these companies netted a total of PLN66.3bn, 7.6 percent or PLN22.8bn less than in the preceding year. Here, the biggest decrease was observed in the category of companies with more than 500 employees as their net result shrank by as much as 15.7 percent or PLN22.3bn. (ICE VARSAVIA)
