LEASING POPULAR WITH POLISH ENTREPRENEURS

A report released by the Polish Leasing Association (ZPL) and EY-Parthenon shows that the leasing sector finances ca. 30 percent of capital expenditures in Poland and is the preferred form of financing for the SME sector, which generates ca. 50 percent of Poland’s GDP. As noted in the report, the biggest obstacle to the growing popularity of leasing is the fact that, as stipulated in the relevant legislation, leasing agreements must have a paper-based form. Meanwhile, according to a proposal included in the draft deregulating economic and administrative law, leasing agreements would have to have a documented form, which is defined in very broad terms by the Polish Civil Code.
