Stalprofil, one of the major steel distributors in Poland, selling steel products to domestic and foreign markets, has published its results for the first quarter of 2024 and in this period the company’s sales revenue shrank by 13 percent y/y while its net profit fell by 27 percent compared with Q1, 2023. As noted by the company, the lower performance of the steel sector in Poland was largely due to the continued low level of public and private investment, resulting in low demand for steel and the continuation of the downward trend in steel product prices. “Q1 was characterised by a shortage of major contracts also on the gas pipeline construction market, where the company operates too,” Stalprofil’s representatives added (ICE VARSAVIA)
